Rowie is an independent, women-led fashion brand founded in Byron Bay. If you’ve ever owned one of their pieces, you’ll know it’s designed to last — effortlessly becoming a staple in your wardrobe for years to come. Each garment is crafted from natural fibres, with a focus on timeless, elegant design and a subtle sense of vintage nostalgia. We sat down with founder and creative force Rowie to learn a little more.

From the begining.

Can you tell us a little about your background before launching ROWIE?

Rowie grew up in an alternative living community in Northern NSW, surrounded by artists, musicians and makers. Creativity was part of everyday life, and she began making and altering clothes from a young age using thrifted and repurposed pieces. That hands-on, resourceful upbringing shaped her instinctive approach to design and ultimately led to the creation of ROWIE.

What values sit at the heart of ROWIE?

At its core, ROWIE is about thoughtful design, longevity and individuality. We focus on natural fibres, responsible production and creating pieces that feel timeless rather than trend-driven. It’s important to us that our clothing is made to be worn, lived in and kept for years.

What part of the design or creation process do you enjoy the most?

The early stages of design are always the most exciting — developing fabrics, silhouettes and seeing an idea start to take shape. There’s something really special about bringing together texture, tone and form in a way that feels both effortless and considered.

What’s your current favourite piece from ROWIE?

Our silk and lace pieces are always a favourite — they really capture the essence of the brand. They’re versatile, timeless and can be styled in so many different ways across seasons.

We’re continuing to evolve our collections while staying true to our core — focusing on natural fibres, thoughtful production and timeless design. We’re also excited to keep exploring artist collaborations and expanding our global community.

From our perspective, representing Rowie at The Collective Showroom is a true privilege.
